Volkswagen XL1 Electric Diesel Hybrid with close to 300MPG

The Volkswagen XL1 is one of the most efficient concept cars in the known universe. With a two-cylinder TDI Clean Diesel engine, an electric motor, lithium-ion battery pack and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the Volkswagen XL1 plug-in hybrid will travel on an astounding 0.9 L/100 km, while emitting just 24 g/km C02. And with a sleek and sporty, lightweight design, itís clear that the XL1 is the most amount of fun, on the least amount of fuel.

A limited production of 250 units began by mid 2013 and pricing starts at $146,000(US). The Volkswagen XL1 plug-in diesel-electric hybrid will be available only in Europe and it can deliver an all-electric range of 31 miles and has a fuel economy of almost 300MPG.
